And then there’s Tamsin McMahon. (who) decided to take a hike: a 2,650 mile, six-month journey along the Pacific Crest Trail. And she found a way to get paid for it by writing freelance travel articles along the way.
Chris and Misty Powell in Texas, see a silver lining in today’s tough economic times. They wouldn’t look for a new job. Instead, they would follow a lifelong dream and open their own business. ”
Now, I know that many great businesses are started in such challenging times, but wouldn’t it be better if people with the entrepreneurial spirit were able to follow such dreams at a time of their own choosing? What about all those who have neither the time nor the inclination, possible because of family obligations, to start their own business? What about the typical employee who likes what he does, doesn’t mind working for someone else and just wants to provide for his family?
And where’s the analysis of how Obama’s economic polices are prolonging such economic conditions? Instead, we’re being told that loss of income is a great and liberating thing.
